~ Baltic Sea ~

Sitting like a gem in the middle of the Baltic Sea lies Gotland island, home to the breed of sheep that I raise. Hundreds of years ago, Viking traders traversed those waters bringing sheep to the little island. The deep blue sea waters lap against white limestone beaches. The sea’s presence is felt from every corner of the island~from the smell of salt water, and the sounds of gentle waves, to the rhythm of an agricultural coastal life. This piece is reminiscent of the Baltic Sea and its history.

This tunic is nuno felted using silk and merino wool. The coordinating shibori brooch is made in coordinating colors.
